HIS: Book 1 in the HIS trilogy Page 10
Everything was just so crazy messed up but for the first time in her life she had a sliver of normal and she loved it.
She was at work when everything changed; when her new normal was blown to smithereens and her new found peace crumbled.
She was just serving the Newman's a final cup of coffee, the elderly couple came in like clockwork ordering the same thing after which they would finish off their meal with a shared desert and a cup of coffee, when a sound like a tornado filled the restaurant.
Outside what seemed like a hundred bikes rolled up.
Bikers male and female got off their bikes.
They split into groups some going in to the few fast food places in town while others went to the few retail stores.
Ten filed into the restaurant where Winnie worked.
The handful of customers sitting at tables inside fled and Winifred was unsure as to what she herself should do so she and the other waitress' Alice fled to the back where Tony, Ernie the cook and the Owner Dave all stood talking over the situation.
"We can't just leave them out there; they are paying customers and we don't even know if they should be feared they could just be weekend riders." babbled on the owner.
"I tell you what Sonny boy; you want their money so bad you go wait their tables and take their orders." Ernie the cook said.
Tony stood there hands crossed over his stomach slightly hunched over as he too pondered the situation.
Winifred was silent she didn't know what to do or say.
Everyone including the owner jumped when a deep hoarse voice demanded;
"Bring me a damn menu I starving."
No one moved, eyes wide they sat there like frozen ducks on a pond.
Winnie grunted in disgust before she grabbed several menus up and made her way out the employees only door.
Moving behind the counter she began laying down menus in front of each person sitting down.
One man sat while two women whom Winnie assumed to be roadies stood behind him rubbing his chest and shoulders.
He must be the one in charge, the President, the Jaxxon of this band of misfits.
Pulling out her notepad and reaching up behind her ear she pulled down her pen.
Tapping the pen on the pad she acted unaffected by their presences when inside she was freaking out.
"What can I get you to drink?" she asked in her calmest voice doing her best to not let her voice tremble.
The man being fondled in front of her smirked at her bravado.
"Bring me a coke." his words held a hint of amusement.
Finding his order strange she frowned a bit but set to getting his coke.
Bringing his glass over she sat it down in front of him and watched as he removed a flask from within his leather jacket.
Twisting off the top he poured a stout smelling amber liquid into the glass and taking a finger he swirled the liquids together.
Putting the lid back on his flask he put it back in his jacket before he reached forward one elbow resting on the counter he lifted the concoction up in a salute to her before he downed it in one go.
Slamming the plastic glass back on the counters surface he made and ahhhhh sound before curling his pointer finger at her in a come here manner.
Stepping only one step closer she asked if he wanted a refill.
"Yes get me a refill this timeless ice and only a half a glass full of coke, while your at it get us all some of what ever ya'll have going as a special today and I am positive my friends want their cokes same as mine."
Going to the back with the man's order in hand she took in the fearful looks on the others faces.
Placing the order ticket on the cooking station she slammed her hand down on top of the ticket causing the others to jump before she snorted, "Order up."
Ernie was the first to move, he whipped up the ticket while he simultaneously picked up his lucky toothpick and made a disgruntled noise about the size of the order.
Looking up he removed the toothpick from his mouth before cracking out at them all in his demanding style, "Well get your asses out of my kitchen I got an order to whip up and unless you know something about cooking you'll only be in my way."
The others began moving out of the kitchen on that note.
Tony looked in Winnies direction catching her gaze he pointed to the back door.
Following him out she stood in front of him with a concerned look on her face as she asked, "What's up?"
Tony had his hands on his hips and for a second Winnie could see why all the girls fawned over him.
He was a good looking man with a sense of style and a metrosexual vibe.
Winnie had to admit the while he was GQ sexy she preferred a man in leather, who had tattoos and air of power about him.
Thinking about Jaxxon only made her feel frustrated so she focused on Tony.
"Winnie those men in there are nothing but trouble and their probably here for your boyfriend so you may want to phone him and tell him what's going on."
For a second Winnie was confused but then she realized he was talking about Jaxxon.
"Tony, Jaxxon is not my boyfriend he is just a friend." she explained.
Tony Shook his head while his smiled but in a sarcastic kind of way like her words only made him mad.
"I have seen him in here more in the past few weeks than I have in years, he has his men follow you around like shadows and he dares people with his eyes to even look at you... Win if he isn't your boyfriend he sure plans to be."
Tapping her shoulder he moved around her and back into the restaurant.
Thinking about Tony's words and Jaxxon's actions Winnie found herself more frustrated.
Jaxxon was a grown man, a biker, and often a violent person yet she wanted him.
She was unsure where they stood and while she was content with things for now she didn't know anything more than Jaxxon's late night whispers and those where not promises.
He wanted her... but what if he got her and then didn't like what he got.
Would he leave her, kick her out, maybe he would be disgusted by her.
Groaning under her heavy thoughts she slapped her hands to the sides of her head and told herself to snap out of it.
Back inside the rowdy group of bikers were shouting obscenities and throwing food at one another.
This was going to be a mess to clean up.
Winifred was refilling drinks when the President hopped up and before Winnie knew it he was dragging her off to the freezer and while Tony and the other tried to get to her to help her the other bikers closed in on them forming a human barricade in between Winnie and those who would protect her.
He shoved Winnie inside the sub zero freezer and pulled the door closed behind him he successfully closed them off.
No one would hear her scream if he hurt her.
He walked in a deadly swagger towards her the smell of sweat and some kind of heavy men's cologne surrounded her making her sick.
It didn't help that she had, had a bad few weeks or the amount of stress Jaxxon had heaped on her and now this.
His hand snaked out wrapping around her throat cutting off her airway.
"My spies tell me your the Kings new pet... I've been told you got him wrapped around your tiny little fingers." his southern accent sounded heavily as he spoke.
He lifted her right hand as she gasped for air and tried to fight back.
She felt dizzy and panicked she could not escape his clutches.
Taking her right hand in his own he lifted her pointer finger in a tight grip he pulled her finger into his mouth so he could suck on the digit.
He groans as if she tasted like the sweetest of flavors.
"I can tell why."
Releasing her hand he shoved her back; her body slamming hard into the shelves of food.
Her hit made a frozen pack of meat fall from a shelf and land on her head nearly knocking her out.
Gasping for air and reeling from the pain in her head she co
uld barely hear his next words.
"Tell him that Kane said hi and let him that we need to talk... and if he refuses." he stopped talking as he squatted down next to her.
Reaching out he traced the drop of blood that ran from her crown down to her left eyebrow.
Removing the finger he looked at the blood covering it; looking at her he placed the bloody pointer finger in his mouth and he licked off the blood.
Groaning once more he finished his thought; "I'll be coming after you pet and I can promise that me and you will be having some delicious fun and little girl I will make it so that he never wants you back so I suggest you make sure he meets with me."
Standing up he readjusted his dick in his pants letting his eyes linger over the exposed skin of her thighs as he did so.
He left her sitting on the floor bleeding and after about ten minutes had past the door opened once more and Tony rushed in.
Seeing her bloody and on the floor he ran to her side and slid his arms under her legs and behind her back.
Picking her up he took her out of the freezer and back into the restaurant.
All the bikers were gone and the place was completely empty.
The owner sat with his hands on his head on top of a table taking in the messed up state the bikers had left in their wake.
Ernie stood there looking at her, Tony, and the place with a sad unsure look on his face.
The other waitress was pushing a broom trying to clean the place up a little.
Sitting her down on a table top Tony left her to get the first aid kit.
Coming back he opened the kit removing some gauze, alcohol, and so cotton balls.
Pushing her hair back from her forehead he smiled down into her eyes.
Picking up the cotton balls he poured alcohol over them.
Applying the stinging cold liquid to her cut Winnie sucked in a sharp breath.
"Sorry."
Tony said absentmindedly.
Reaching down he dropped the bloody balls as he picked up the gauze and he lifted some paper tape from the kit.
Tony fixed her a makeshift bandage and then stood back to observe his work.
"I am no doctor but it will do." he muttered.
He had just stepped back and smiled a sweet little smile at her when the door on the restaurant flew open and Jaxxon rushed in.
His eyes locked on her, he took in the bandage, and then his nose flared at Tony's close proximity.
Tony recognizing the dangerous look in Jaxxon's eyes stepped back.
Jaxxon moved to stand before her; he reached up and fingered the bandage causing Winnie to wince again.
"I am sorry baby." he whispered.
Looking up at him Winnie found herself pissed.
The only reason she had been targeted, the only reason she had been threatened and the only reason she had been hurt was Jaxxon.
Scooting off the table she pushed Jaxxon back.
He looked at her with concern and uncertainty.
Winnie moved around him and made to stand by Tony.
However Tony was in self preservation mode and moved away from her after she had made it to his side.
"Why are you looking at me like that baby?" Jaxxon asked.
Glaring at him Winnie told him what had happened and what the other President had said.
When she finished Jaxxon's shoulders raised and lowered under his deep breaths as he stood their rage pouring off him.
"Bring me Dodge." he said.
A large biker standing in the doorway never said a word he just turned and made his way back out the restaurants doors.
Five minutes later the door opened and Slider came in pushing a smaller man in front of him.
Jaxxon turned to the smaller man and spoke; his voice like ice.
"I assigned you as Winnies watch for today and when it came time to protect her you cowered outside like a little bitch...if it had not been for Razor seeing everything go down and sending out the alert I would have never known that prick was in town... let alone that he hurt my Winnie So what do you have to say for yourself?"
The man's mouth moved like a fish out of water like his words were stuck in his throat.
Winnie found she had no sympathy for him he had after all made no effort to help her.
Just when he had found the courage to speak Jaxxon pulled back a fist and slammed it hard into the guys nose. Blood shot out as this horrible cracking sound filled the air.
Jaxxon had broken the guys nose.
The guy was on his knees holding his nose, his greasy long hair was down in his eyes and his patch announcing him as a prospect stood out against the leather of his vest.
Jaxxon reached down and ripped the patch off and tossed it to Slider who reached out and caught the patch that he neatly rolled up and placed in his back pocket.
Hearing the sound of his patch being ripped off sent the guy over the edge he came up off his knees and ran at Jaxxon.
His fist flew wildly at Jaxxon but his anger made him sloppy in his attempts at pummeling Jaxxon.
Jaxxon easily dodged the punches and delivered some of his own with deadly accuracy.
Within minutes the guy was on the ground with a bloody nose, eye and lip.
He was missing two teeth that sat on the floor by his head and Jaxxon was sitting on the guys chest using his knees to hold the guy down while he continued to reign down punch after punch on the man's face.
Winnie had seen enough she was horrified at the sound of Jaxxon's fists impacting the guys already tenderized face.
She turned her head away from the awful sight and was surprised to hear the sound of Tony's voice intruding on the moment.
"That's enough."
Chapter 14
Jaxxon was going crazy.
He would not allow Winifred out of his sight.
For the first time in their acquaintance Winifred was sitting inside his clubhouse.
The men surrounding her were scary big and burly.
The smell of cigarettes and liquor filled the room but that was better than sweat and sex which Winifred knew was being covered.
She had seen enough upon arriving to know that sex happened in this place a lot.
She felt undressed under the eyes of such wild and scary men.
These men didn't really scare her though; no the only person she was scared of right now was this different Jaxxon she was seeing.
Somewhere down the hallway in a room with the door closed Jaxxon was yelling at several men; his commanding officers.
He had been in that room yelling about their"Fuck up's" for the last thirty minutes and not once did she hear one of the men speak.
When they had first arrived Jaxxon had ordered the men to his office with only one of the men balking at being told what to do.
That man had ended up the first one heading into Jaxxon's office after Jaxxon had slammed the butt of his gun into the man's skull and placed the cold steel of the guns barrel into the man's nuts while whispering deadly threats into the man's ear.
Before leaving the room Jaxxon had ordered Winifred to sit down and dared her to move before he got back.
His words were not harsh but his tone had been menacing.
Storming off down the hallway towards the office he now sat in Jaxxon's men had followed in line silently.
Winifred had been alone for the most part except for the last 15 minutes when the entire room was filled with enormous bikers who are all curious about why a girl like her was sitting inside their domain.
Too exhausted by the days events to play into their hands Winifred sat on that couch, bikers all around her two on either side of her, with her arms crossed over her chest and a stiff upper lip.
It was another hour before Jaxxon exited the room his men following behind him quietly an official show to his true power here.
Most grown men these grown men more than most would never take being talked to the way Jaxxon had spoken to them without leaving broken bones in their wake.r />
Yet they had barely spoken a word in their defense and now so completely reprimanded they were quiet respectfully quiet.
