"Your not fucking going anywhere Winifred except back to your room to get dressed." his words clipped his arm stretched out finger pointing the way back down the hall towards her room.
Winifred felt like a child being sent to her room after a good fatherly scolding.
She started walking towards the hallway before she really knew she was moving but the minute she realized she was being the equivalent of an obedient dog she stopped.
Crossing her arms over her chest and shaking her head no she turned back to Jaxxon before stating firmly, "NO."
Jaxxon who had already moved to better confront Mary-Elizabeth froze his back muscles tightened and flexed muscles rippling under the skin.
Looking over his shoulder at her he stared at her through hooded angry eyes.
"Oh so she not only lives here but she talks to you like your her little bitch too?" Mary Elizabeth's words only added fuel to the fire.
Marching to Winifred's side Jaxxon grabbed her upper arm with one large hand; his grip was painful then he jerked her nearly pulling her off her feet towards the door.
Shoving her through the doorway and down the hall before he yanked her in front of him and slammed her back and head into the wall next to her door where only hours ago everything had been perfect.
"Then next time I give you an order you will obey me Winnie and if you ever talk back to me in front of one of the club again your punishment will be sever." His tone cold his words emphasized with a pointer finger he pointed at her face.
Winfred was not sure how to respond as this was the side of Jaxxon she knew nothing about so she just stood there absolutely quite.
"Answer me damn it." he yelled as he smashed a fist into the wall by her head.
Shaking her head yes was not enough he glared at her and in almost a whisper he said, "Speak."
"Yes I understand." Winnie whispered.
"Good." he said through clenched teeth.
Looking back towards the kitchen Jaxxon sneered in contempt at the idea of having to deal with the problem causing Mary-Elizabeth.
"Now to handle that fucking bitch in the kitchen." he didn't even acknowledge Winnie as he walked back to the kitchen.
When he disappeared from view Winnie breathed in a deep breath releasing a heavy sigh.
"What... the ...hell was that?" she asked herself.
Jaxxon had never raised a violent hand towards her and what little he had just done scared the shit out of her.
There was no way she could stay here after that.
Opening the door to her room Winnie walked inside closing the door behind her.
Taking a moment to collect her thoughts and make a plan Winnie decided she only had one choice.
Trey.
Calling up Amanda's brother she explained everything and then she begged him to come get her.
She packed only what she needed and could carry.
Opening the window she crawled out; just as she was reaching up to pull the window back down she heard Mary-Elizabeth scream in indignation before she heard the sound of more breaking glass.
Well to hell with them and their seriously messed up relationship Winnie thought.
Walking through the woods she made a straight shot through them to the main road where Trey sat in his truck a worried expression on his face.
Seeing Winnie he sighed shoulders slumping.
"Damn Winifred; I thought he had done shot you, you took so long." Trey said his frustration apparent.
Climbing up and in Winifred asked him to pull off.
Pretty soon they were headed to his and Amanda's house.
She wouldn't stay long as she didn't want to impose and she wanted to be gone before Jaxxon tracked her down.
She really hoped to never see him again...
Chapter 12
Winifred felt like a burden...
Trey had driven her to his and Amanda's house without questions, he had plenty he had wanted to ask but he never did.
She had been embraced by Helen, Amanda and Trey's mother, a thirty eight year old bombshell of a woman who put everything into keeping her family afloat.
She had bunked in with Amanda and had made sure to offer help every chance she got.
She still felt like her presence was a strain unfortunately it was a necessary strain until she could find a place of her own to stay.
Winifred had been reluctant to ask questions about Amanda's father but in the end she had forced out her questions; Amanda and Trey gave her straight forward answers; no sugar coating.
Their father had indeed stolen from the club, he had tried to double cross not only the club but the entire brotherhood of bikers who rode under the Ronin riders colors.
He had been a bad guy but a decent father and while Amanda admitted she understood Jaxxon's need to prove a point and maintain a certain image Amanda admitted she could never forgive his actions toward herself and her family.
On the third day, less than an half an hour after Trey left for football practice trouble started.
Winifred had been folding laundry in order to lighten Helens' burdens while Amanda watched a movie about two young lovers falling in love only to lose themselves in their battle with cancer when the sound Winifred feared the most at that moment burst through the silence.
Jaxxon and three other men rode up the driveway before coming to a stop right in front of the square blocks used as stepping stones to lead up to the door
Jaxxon's right leg came down to support his bike while his left foot came up to push down his kickstand.
Slinging his right leg up and over the bike Jaxxon brushed his windblown hair back from his face and with his right hand before he used his left hand to lift his sunglass from his eyes to his head.
Jaxxon stood up and made his way up those steps and to the door.
Looking from side to side he took in the neighboring houses.
Lifting a hand he knocked on the door and with each knock Winfred felt her heart move closer to the pit of her stomach.
She was not ready to face him.
Lifting a hand up she covered the small sound that escaped her in the form of a whimper.
However it was the sound of Helen screaming at Jax that brought her forth from her frozen stupor.
Rushing from the laundry room she cleared the corner to see Helen slamming her fists into Jaxxon's chest as she screamed Murderer at the top of her lungs.
Jaxxon simply grabbed her wrists and held them back from pummeling him anymore.
He grimaced at her pitch but stood there in the face of her hatred as stone cold as a statue.
Amanda moved forward to detach her mother from Jaxxon, glaring at him as she pulled her mother back.
Amanda turned to Winifred and demanded she deal with Jaxxon; or in Amanda's words the sorry sack of shit at the door.
Winifred ran forward grabbing Jaxxon's arm and pulled him from the doorway.
Outside she shoved him down the steps back in the direction of his bike.
The other members of the club sat watching the show with an air of disgust.
Jax allowed her to push him only so far before he whirled around; and then it began.
"Just what the fuck where you thinking running off like that?" he didn't yell or raise his voice and it was the way his tone stayed so neutral that scared her the most.
He was pissed.
"I can't come back with you so if that is what this is all about you should just leave...like now." Winifred confronted him.
He reached for the first thing his hands could grab; a lawn chair went slamming into the house over Winifred's head.
"I told you to stop assuming you know me because someone tells you some bad shit about me that seems to fit. I AM NOT some sadistic bastard but if that's what you want to see me as then so fucking be it."
Reaching forward he grabbed her arm and jerked her towards his bike.
Lifting her up; he put her on the back.
Getting on in front of her he fired up th
e massive motorcycle and before Winifred could do more than scream out in shock he put the bike into motion down the street.
In mere minutes the small house they shared days ago came into view and like they could read their leaders mind the other members of the club turned to head in another direction leaving Winifred all alone in Jaxxon's volatile hands.
Jumping off the bike and dragging Winifred off Jaxxon practically drug her into the house.
Winifred tried to escape his grip but Jaxxon's hold was solid.
The door shut and Winifred felt Jaxxon's hands fist in the flimsy material of her shirt seconds before he slammed her back into the door.
For one silly second Winnie worried about that flimsy material and if it might tare.
Her thoughts were soon washed blank when Jaxxon's fist slammed the wall beside her head.
"This is the part where you pay close attention." He sneered.
Winifred tilted her head back a little in defiance but was stopped when her head hit the door.
"If you ever run off on me again..." his words trailed off while he looked at her.
He stepped back from her removing his fist from the wall so he could rub at the shadowy beard on his face.
Winifred stood still with her back pressed firmly against the door.
She watched Jaxxon as he rubbed and scratched at the beard, a five o'clock shadow, on his face.
Once more she found that she was not afraid of him yes she was cautious of him and sometimes his actions could seem scary like but he had never physically hurt her not like Mark.
Reaching out Jaxxon used his left hand to toy with the hem of her shirt.
The silk material was not sexy it was just an old pink V-neck she wore around the house but he seem mesmerized.
Taking a step closer to her his eyes moved from his hand on her shirt up to her chest, then to her lips.
Winifred could see the muscles in his jaw flex and tighten under his restraint; she saw his Adams apple Bob as he swallowed.
It was super sexy and hard not to react to but she remained as still as a stone against the door.
His hand slipped from the material but didn't go far as it moved under the material and over the flesh of her stomach.
Tiny goosebumps erupted over her entire body at the sensation of his rough hands on her body.
Winnie's entire physical being was concentrated on the movement of that one hand; how the thumb moved back and forward while the fingers moved in a circle pattern.
She was so fixated on that hand she didn't see the other one moving.
At least not until she felt it on her cheek.
She jumped under the contact.
Looking up she saw him staring at her like a hungry lion ready to devour a hapless baby gazelle.
It was her turn to swallow hard.
She found it hard to breath and she was nervous; what was he going to do?
Moving even closer to her he finally spoke.
"Now explain why you left."
It took Winnie a minute to process his words.
"I left because I can't be in the house of a man who can murder people without flinching and whose friends are scary and possibly crazy or whose flings come in ready to rip me to shreds just because I have managed to move in on their territory." The words were out before she could think through what she should say.
Jaxxon was quite a moment he simply looked at her through those steel colored eyes.
"Without flinching huh?" he asked.
"Didn't seem to me like you minded that part of my personality too much when I was taking care of your problems, and as for my friends; well those friends are the ones who helped make sure you don't have a problem to worry about anymore, and as for those flings well I took care of that as well... but if you want to permanently rectify that situation you can pull back my sheets and climb between them anytime." saying that Jaxxon moved forward caging Winifred between him and the door.
Reaching forward he palmed the back of her head sealing her lips with his.
When his lips first crushed hers Winnie was shocked.
At first his kiss was demanding and enticing but when she didn't comply his other hand brutally locked onto her jaw forcing her mouth to open.
Winifred did her best to fight the heat spreading through her limbs forcing her body to remain limp and useless while her heart raced so fast it could have taken first place in the Dayton.
She caved; moving her lips and tongue to mimic his she began to kiss him back with the same fever.
Before she knew it she was shirtless and her pants were being pushed to the floor leaving her in only a bra and panties.
Jaxxon's shirt was hanging off a lamp, his pants were unbuttoned and he was toeing off his shoes when Winifred came to her senses.
"Jaxxon what are you doing?" she asked.
He looked at her like she must be dense but before he could make some snide comment Winifred added.
"I am still seventeen and your still pissed do you really want to have sex under those conditions?"
He thought about it for a minute before he began zipping up his pants.
He never grabbed his shirt from the lamp he just stormed across the room before plopping down on the couch.
His arms went up and covered his eyes his stomach had these tiny ripples running across it and the bulge behind his fly was more than obvious.
Winifred figured he needed some space so she made to go down the small hallway to her room when she heard a sound.
Turning to look at Jaxxon she saw that while he still had his right arm over his eyes; but his left was patting the couch beside him.
He wanted her to come sit beside him.
Moving across the room she picked up his shirt off the lamp and pulled it over her head.
Sitting down next to him on the couch she pulled her legs under her and for a second she wished she had shaved the night before but she shoved the thoughts to the side as she snuggled against Jaxxon's side.
He was so confusing, his temperament was hot and cold, she could never figure him out.
"I may treat you with affection and I may let you get away with a lot more than I do anyone else but if you ever talk back to me again or disobey me again I will treat you the same way I would any other club bitch is that understood?" his words came out from nowhere and Winnie understood what he was saying perfectly.
I may like you and feel like your special but the club has to come first and I won't let you make me look weak in front of them.
You step out of line again and you Will be punished.
Winnie understood and she had no intention of doing anything to upset him but she was never going to be a doormat again for anyone.
Jaxxon may be her savior and he may be the only person alive she ever wanted physically but he was also scary as hell and lived by a set of rules that she found hard to swallow.
Chapter 13
School and work, school and work.
For the next two days that was all Winifred concentrated on.
She went to school in the mornings where she tried to walk the halls and act like any other student when her life at home felt like a television drama.
Work was just work; a mind numbing action that she found herself clinging to.
Work just seemed to help her escape her reality for a while.
The nights were filled with routine; a strange often complicated routine.
She would get home and set down to do her homework, then she would clean the house a little while she prepared a meal.
Jaxxon would come home from where ever he had been, he would beam at the sight of her cooking in his kitchen, then he would go wash and change his clothes from leathers to a pair of soft worn faded denim jeans and a t-shirt.
He always went barefooted around the house and while she kept the floors clean she could not bring herself to walk bare footed on the surfaces so it aggravated her for him to do so... but she said nothing to him about it.
They
would sit down at the small kitchen table where they talk about their day while eating then it was off to the couch for snuggling and TV before they went off to their separate beds with a tension between that that you could cut with a knife.
